Currently, the only foreign language taught at your school is English. However, next year a second foreign language will be offered. Students have been asked to share their opinions about which language the school should choose.

Write a letter to the school director explaining your opinion. In your letter, you should speak about:

  • Which other foreign language should be taught
  • The number of students who are likely to be interested in it
  • How this language will help students in the future.

The director will announce her decision next month.

    Dear Mr. Johnson:
    I am writing to make a suggestion about how interesting it could be to learn another language at this school. We had a meeting this morning in the student lounge, and we consider that Chinese can be a language of support for our future and have a better chance of finding a job.
    At the meeting we had this morning, about 75% of the students would like to learn Chinese. We believe that Chinese is a very important language in these times that we are in, because today there are many international trade agreements with them.
    From our point of view, Chinese can play a very important role in our future, it is believed that now the most important companies have dealings with them, because they can have a great workforce and a lot of trade all over the world and in all kinds of businesses.
    We would like you to think about it and we would like to know if we have the possibility of hiring a teacher in the afternoons, after class, as an extracurricular subject within the school.

    Dear Mrs.Scheligen,
    I am writing regarding to the announcement about offering a new language that be taught at school, which was published in the Public School Diary.
    The studentes were being attempting to different assemblies to decide what language might be chosen. Therefore, we got into a decision that those languages should be Spanish, French and German. Afterwards, we took some surveys and the most electible language was Spanish which had rosen a 78% votes of all students.
    I have always interested in learning Spanish beacause its importance as a second most speakable language in the world. Even though its complexity, students might handle to learn it at different levels. Not only is Spanish remarkable to travel to an American country, but also it could be useful for doing a degree.
    I am looking fordward to hearing your decision.

      Good Wilson. Some awkward phrases which are difficult to understand. Don’t make the language too complicated.

Maybe “appropriate” is better here) language was Spanish which had been chosen by 78% votes of all students.
      I have always BEEN interested in learning Spanish because its importance as the second most SPOKEN language in the world. Despite its complexity, students might BE ABLE TO learn it at different levels. Not only is Spanish remarkable to travel to an American country, but also it could be useful for doing a degree.
      I am looking forward to hearing your decision.

    I am writing to you on behalf of Fist Courseā€™s students of this Hight School. The reason is due to the fact that we would like to learn another foreign language apart of English.

    As you may be aware the knowledge of several languages at this time could be quiet rewarding for us in the future. In this way where we live in the global world where everybody is interconnected, we need to be capable of communicating with people of the rest of the world who speak languages different to us.
    This year we are 120 students in the first course and after asking all of them, a big number of us have an enormous interest in learning another language apart of English.

    We suggest that an excellent language would be French because is the second language in the EU.

    So we manage to you to ask if we can have the possibility of it. It is truth that course has started yet and obviously, it would be a struggle because timetables are established, surely there is any teacher available and some problems more I donā€™t know. For these reasons we would like to propose we would pay the cost of classes as well we would receive calls off timetable.

    All this considered you can see we have a huge interest in learning other languages.

    I hope to hearing soon from you so we hope to have and a positive request.

      Good but you need to explain more why French would be useful and not write about how to cover the cost.

      As you may be aware the knowledge of several languages at this time could be quiet rewarding for us in the future. In this way where we live in the global world where everybody is interconnected, we need to be capable of communicating with people of the rest of the world who speak different languages different to us.
      This year we are 120 students in the first course and after asking all of them, a big number of us have an enormous interest in learning another language apart of English.

      We suggest that an excellent language would be French because IT is the second language in the EU.

      So we manage (?) to you to ask if we can have the possibility of it. It is TRUE that THE SCHOOL YEAR has started yet and obviously, it would be a struggle because timetables are established, surely there is any teacher available and some problems more I donā€™t know. For these reasons we would like to propose we would pay the cost of classes as well we would receive calls off timetable. (This information is not necessary)

    Dear Sir,
    I am writing to explain why French language is the best option to choice as a new foreign language.
    A huge number of students are interested in studying it and the main reason is learning an useful idiom.
    Not only is speaken French in France but also in a huge number of differents countries such as Canada or Madagascar. Thanks to this language would offer teenagers the opportunity to travel arround the world and relationships with others will be posible.
    In addition, unkown culture and particular pronuciation are claims for ourn youngers and a new personal motivations.
    Thank you for considering my proposal that French be selected as the school’s new foreing language. I believe it would be and excellent choice and I look forward to hearning your final decision.
